The application proposes a three-phase project to convert the applicant's public televison facilities to digital broadcasting. The application proposes 40% Federal funding for a project with a total cost of $4,452,067. The total Federal request is $1,780,826. For FY 2001, the applicant requests $1,015,478 for a new tower, antenna and transmission line. For FY 2002 the applicant requests $689,348 for a transmitter, microwave and fiber optic STLs, test equipment and master control equipment. For FY 2003, the applicant requests $76,000 for additional master control equipment and satellite receivers . The station serves a population of 1.3 million in the Topeka area including Kansas and Missouri.
