A two-phase application for the digital conversion of four stations in the Vermont Public Television Network. The total cost of the project is $5,208,280 and the 40% Federal request is $2,083,312. For FY 2001, the applicant is requesting $1,159,240 to purchase and install transmission systems at WVTA in Windsor and WVTB in St. Johnsbury and for switching and interconnection equipment for these two stations. The request of $924,072 for FY 2002 will fund transmission facilities and interconnection equipment for WETK in Burlington and WVER in Rutland. The Network serves a population of over 1.3 million residents of the state and neighboring areas of New York, New Hampshire, Massachusetts and Quebec, Canada.
