A three-phase project for the digital conversion of KTNW in Richland and KWSU in Pullman. The total cost of the project is $2,820,119 and the 40% Federal request is $1,128,046. For FY 2001, the applicant is requesting $334,594 for the purchase and installation of the transmission system for KTNW. The $442,182 request for FY 2002 will cover the transmission system for KWSU, the microwave interconnection system and the start of the master control facility. The master control facility will be shared with KSPS in Spokane (KSPS is requesting funding for its share of the master control in Application No. 01064). The FY 2003 request of $351,270 will support master control equipment including a video server and the routing switcher. The stations serve a population of over 540,000 people .
