A single-phase project for the digital conversion of public television station KUAC, Fairbanks, AK. The estimated total project cost is $1,452,000, with a 75% Federal request of $1,089,000. The project would purchase a DTV transmitter, antenna, STL, multichannel server, routing switcher, bug inserter, video converter, signal encoder, data multiplexer, video recorders, PSIP generator system, and diverse other related equipment. Station KUAC-TV operates on Ch. 9 for its analog service and will operate on Ch. 24 for its digital service. The station currently serves approximately 180,000 residents of Fairbanks and surrounding rural areas.
