A two-phase project for the digital conversion of WMHT in Schenectady, New York. The total cost of the project is $2,817,512 and the 25% Federal request is $704,378. The FY 2001 request of $152,285 will support the station's share of the construction of a community tower to be shared with five local commercial stations. During this phase, the project will also purchase and intall the antenna and the transmission line. The $552,093 requested for FY 2002 will fund the digital transmitter, the STL, the DTV satellite receiver, master control and test equipment. The station serves a population of approximately 1.3 million people.
