To expand the distance learning capabilities of the Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine's OhiONE network. The latter is a dedicated, switched, video-conferencing system that intereconnects three smaller networks. The first of these three interconnects 12 regional hospitals statewide and a regional learning center in Sagamore Hills, OH. The second interconnects the facilities of the Southern Consortium for Children, a collective of various mental health agencies in Southeastern Ohio. The third is a network of four libraries in Southeastern Ohio. Each of these three has operated as an isolated unit, primarily because of OhiOne's bridging limitations. The project would expand the capabilities of the three networks by interconnecting their infrastructures and operations and by establishing a distributed distance learning resource center.
