A two-phase application for the digital conversion of WSBE in Providence, Rhode Island. The total cost of the project is $2,084,107 and the 34% Federal request is $700,000. For FY 2001, the request of $350,000 will support tower modifications and the purchase and installation of the transmitter, antenna, line and test equipment. The request of $350,000 for FY 2002 will cover the STL plus master control equipment including the video server, routing switcher, encoder, monitoring and test equipment. The station serves a population of more than 4.5 million people.
