A two-phase application project for the digital conversion of public television station WPTO, Oxford, OH. The estimated total project cost is $3,515,730, with a 40% Federal request of $1,406,291. For FY 2001, the proposal requests $1,180,560 to purchase a 1,000' tower, a DTV transmitter, a DTV antenna and transmission line, and a digital STL. For FY 2002, the application requests $225,731 to purchase a multichannel server, a multichannel encoder, a data multiplexer, and diverse ancillary equipment items. Station WPTO-TV's signal reaches an estimated viewing audience of over 2.7 million.
