For the FY 2001 grant cycle, the Public Telecommunications Facilities Program (PTFP) received 251 applications which request a total of $168 million in Federal funds. Requests for FY 2001 funds total $123 million with an additional $45 million requested during FY 2002-2003 as part of multi-year digital television applications. Of the funds requested, $108 million are for television projects, $10 million for radio projects, and $5 million for nonbroadcast projects. The 139 television projects submitted include 113 applications to assist stations in meeting the FCC’s May 2003 deadline for initiation of digital broadcasts, 25 applications for equipment replacement and one service expansion project. The 93 radio applications include 22 projects to bring public radio to unserved areas and 70 equipment replacement proposals.

All 251 applications received by PTFP are listed on this Web site. Identification of any application only indicates its receipt and does not indicate that an application has been accepted for review, has been determined to be eligible for funding, or that it will receive an award.

Any interested party may file comments with PTFP supporting or opposing an application and setting forth the grounds for support or opposition. PTFP will forward a copy of any opposing comments to the applicant. Comments must be sent as soon as possible to PTFP at the following address: NTIA/PTFP, Room 4625, 1401 Constitution Ave., N.W., Washington, D.C. 20230.

PTFP will incorporate all comments from the public and any replies from the applicant in the applicant's official file.
