This emergency project is required to construct a transmission tower for KANZ-FM, which is being evicted from the tower space it has leased since its inception in 1980. The eviction is due to the federal DTV conversion mandate for the lessor, KSNG-TV. Discussions and planning over the past five years had indicated that the conversion could be made without moving KANZ off the tower. However, a notice of eviction effective October 1st of this year was received on January 7, 2005.
