BellNET, Inc. is a non-commercial telecommunications network that currently serves an estimated 180,000 Bell County (Texas) citizens in a principally urban location. The objective of this expansion is to provide low-cost access for data, video and audio (distance learning) for approximately 112,000 rural citizens located in 5 western counties adjacent to Bell County. Funding is available to supplement federal funds at 156% and complete a multi-county wireless infrastructure that includes providing end-user equipment for distance learning applications. PTFP funding for 5 towers will enable other funding resources to be used to create electronic access across 82 miles of rural central Texas.
