WUNC-FM Public Radio requests as Priority 4(b), funds of $245,625 (50% of project cost) to purchase urgently needed broadcast production equipment for the station’s new broadcast and production facility located in Durham, NC. Equipment includes a digital audio routing switcher and digital audio production control surfaces; Telos 2 x 12 phone screening system; broadcast studio production equipment, such as amplifiers, speakers, and digital cart machines; customized studio furniture; computer storage network to support audio production and archiving; and equipment racks and wiring. Also funds for an emergency generator for the Durham facility and microwave interconnect and codex to connect Chapel Hill and Durham studios; and funds to replace an amplifier powering the station’s satellite signal uplink to its associate stations in eastern North Carolina. The total allowable project cost is estimated at $491,250.
