WJCT-FM (89.9) is the designated emergency broadcaster for Northeast Florida and works with local and state emergency management services to broadcast official emergency information during hurricane season, and all other emergencies. WJCT is seeking funds to help purchase a Transmitter Back-Up Power System (100 kW diesel generator set) which will provide standby power during power outages. The generator will provide power to WJCT’s FM broadcast transmission facility when JEA power is down or otherwise interrupted.
